Application Process

We are excited that you are interested in employment with Chaves County. Please read all instructions below to ensure that your Employment Application receives the consideration that it deserves. Applications are screened based on the information provided on the application so please try to be as inclusive as possible. Answer each question fully and accurately.

Regulations & Expectations

  • A separate application must be submitted for each job opening.
  • Never use the notation “See Resume” on the application.
  • Application’s accepted: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. (close of business) of the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted. There are no exceptions.
  • Carefully read and follow all instructions on the application.
  • Type or print as accurate or legible as possible. If written, use black ink.
  • You may attach a resume in addition to the application.
  • Resumes received that are not accompanied by an application will not be accepted.
  • Applications are accepted only for posted positions.
  • Applicants must submit a separate application for each position.
  • Sign and date the application. We will not process an application without a signature.
  • The apply online process will be accepted and emailing an official County application form will be accepted, but a signature will be required if you are selected for an interview.
  • Applications will be accepted via fax, however, please sign the form.
  • Do not submit the application to any department other than Human Resources located in the Chaves County Administration Building #1 Saint Mary‘s Place, Roswell, NM 88203 or email to Human Resources.

Post-Offer & Hiring Requirements

  • Chaves County is a drug free employer. Post-offer drug testing is required for all positions as a condition of employment and depending on position applied for a post-offer physical may be required as well.
  • Chaves County participates with E-Verify. If you are hired for any position, federal law requires that you provide proof of your eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of your hire date. Failure to prove such eligibility will void the offer of employment.
